CODE OF CONDUCT FOR RESPONSIBLE TOURISTS

We kindly encourage our guests to follow the guidelines below.

ENVIRONMENTAL RESPECT

• Do not leave trash; always take your waste with you to dispose of it properly.

• Avoid using straws and disposable utensils.

• Protect the flora and fauna; do not feed wild animals, observe them from a distance, and do not uproot plants or remove rocks, sand, coral, snails, seashells, or other natural elements from their original environment.

• Conserve resources by using water and electricity sparingly.

• Reuse sheets and towels for more than one day.

• When leaving your room, remember to turn off lights, fans, and the television.

• Keep the air conditioning at 24°C (75°F).

• Buy products that do not require the use of endangered plants or animals in their production.

• Use printed materials such as brochures responsibly, using only what is strictly necessary; prioritize the use of electronic devices.

 

CULTURAL AND SOCIAL RESPECT

• Learn about local traditions and dress accordingly.

• Interact respectfully with the people who live and work in the destination you are visiting.

• People are not part of the scenery; ask their permission before taking photos.

• Respect human rights and protect children and adolescents from exploitation in all its forms, especially sexual and labor exploitation.

 

LOCAL ECONOMY

• Support local crafts, food, and services.

• Treat local vendors and artisans with respect and kindness, and promote fair trade practices.
